Santa Elena is a town in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is the main border crossing point between Mexico and Belize, located on the banks of the Hondo River, twelve kilometers from Chetumal, with which it is now conurbated. This town is the primary border exchange point between Mexico and Belize. It is situated across from Santa Elena, Corozal, Belize—a community whose main attraction is a free trade zone located before Belizean customs, drawing buyers from all over southeastern Mexico.
